Penyelundupan Miras di Bali Rp12,5 M Terbongkar, Barang Buktinya Bikin Melongo

A joint operation by the Customs Service and the TNI Strategic Intelligence Agency (BAIS) uncovered a massive illegal alcohol smuggling ring in Bali, seizing 19.142 bottles of ethyl‑alcohol beverages worth an estimated Rp12,5 miliar. The contraband, ranging from plain to branded labels, bore counterfeit tax stamps and was destined for the Denpasar area.

The Bali‑Nusa Tenggara‑East Nusa Tenggara Regional Office of Customs has escalated the case to formal investigation. Investigators are working closely with the Bali Police Criminal Investigation Unit and the Bali Public Prosecutor’s Office, having interviewed ten witnesses so far while the probe continues to expand.

Customs Director General Djaka Budhi Utama said the bust prevented a potential state loss of Rp2,14 miliar in excise revenue. The operation followed an intelligence tip about illegal circulation and stockpiling in Denpasar, leading to coordinated action on Thursday (23/7) by central and regional customs enforcement teams together with BAIS TNI.

Legal proceedings against the perpetrators are now underway as investigators deepen the case.
